Return & Refund Policy
Making the Connection Gift Shop
Effective Date: November 22, 2025
Please inspect your order upon receipt and contact us immediately if the item is defective, damaged or if you receive the wrong item, so that we can evaluate the issue and make it right. To be eligible for a return, your item must be in the same condition that you received it, unworn or unused, with tags, and in its original packaging. You’ll also need the receipt or proof of purchase.
1. Custom & Made-to-Order Items (Necklaces, Message Cards, Acrylic Plaques, Ornaments, Apparel)
· We accept returns or replacements if your item arrives damaged, defective, misprinted, missing parts, or if the wrong product is received.
· Replacements or refunds may be available for packages lost in transit (after carrier confirmation).
· To request a replacement or refund, contact us within 7 days of delivery.
· To start a return, you can contact us at makingtheconnectiongiftshop@gmail.com.
· Include in your email:
o Order number
o Photo(s) of the item and packaging
o Short description of the issue
· We do NOT accept returns for: buyer’s remorse, correctly made personalized items, incorrect text/photo submitted by customer, wrong address entered by customer, or dissatisfaction if the product was made correctly.
2. Apparel (T-Shirts, Hoodies, Hats)
· We offer replacements for misprints, incorrect sizing sent (if different from the order), or manufacturing defects.
· Size exchanges are not accepted if the size delivered matches the size ordered.
3. Supplier-Fulfilled Items
· We replace or refund supplier-filled items that arrive damaged, defective, or incorrect.
· We cannot refund for buyer’s remorse, unauthorized returns, or delays caused by customs, carriers, or holiday peak seasons.
4. Lost or Stolen Packages
· If tracking shows delivered but the package is missing, check with neighbors, household members, or your local post office.
· If the package cannot be located, we will assist with a carrier claim.
· Replacements may be offered at our discretion.
5. Order Cancellations
· Cancellations may be requested within 2 hours of placing your order.
· After this period, production may have begun and cancellation is not guaranteed.
· Supplier-filled items can only be canceled if the supplier has not processed the order.
6. Exceptions / non-returnable item
· Certain types of items cannot be returned, like perishable goods (such as food, flowers, or plants), custom products (such as special orders or personalized items), and personal care goods (such as beauty products). We also do not accept returns for hazardous materials, flammable liquids, or gases. Please contact us if you have questions or concerns about your specific item.
Unfortunately, we cannot accept returns on sale items or gift cards.
7. European Union 14 day cooling off period
Notwithstanding the above, if the merchandise is being shipped into the European Union, you have the right to cancel or return your order within 14 days, for any reason and without justification. As above, your item must be in the same condition that you received it, unworn or unused, with tags, and in its original packaging. You’ll also need the receipt or proof of purchase.
8. Refund Processing Time
· We will notify you once we’ve received and inspected your return and let you know if the refund was approved or not. If approved, you’ll be automatically refunded on your original payment method within 10 business days. Please remember it can take some time for your bank or credit card company to process and post the refund too. If more than 15 business days have passed since we’ve approved your return, please contact us at makingtheconnectiongiftshop@gmail.com. Replacement items ship automatically once approved.
9. Return Shipping
· Returns are generally not required for damaged or defective items.
· If a return is needed, instructions will be provided.
· Unauthorized returns will not be accepted or refunded.
